Taking Back Sunday’s: part two.

My time of implementation of this action will begin in September 2019. My first step towards satisfaction has been to notify my shop steward on May 14, 2019 and my department manager whom has been notified on May 15, 2019.

In my union handbook it states on page 10 section 4.7, in the first line that, “Sunday work shall be assigned on a voluntary basis”. Currently, everyone in the department works 6 days per week. Sunday is deemed overtime, yet, it is voluntary. I have been successful in my endeavors to be able to afford one Sunday per week off where I can further practice and share my religion with fellow practitioners.

I have recently stated that I no longer want to volunteer my time to work on Sunday, so that I may have that day set aside to practice my religion. The result I received is that management may either laugh at me, or, inconvenience me during the work week by sending me to stores farthest from my home.

Upon the insinuation of having my life inconvenienced as an act of spite (in order to get me to quit my job), my reaction is as follows: “for nearly four years there has been no need for me in stores that are farthest away from my home. Therefore, there is no need for my services to be sent to another state, nor thirty miles away from my geographic locality (neighborhood). Essentially, these insinuations carry no real weight, nor tangible reason. They are merely a threat towards my time and my quality of life.”

As per the union handbook it states on page 18 section 8.2 a) It is agreed that seniority ranking of each employee will be exercised in the following sequence:

1. WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHIC LOCALITY.

2. An adjoining locality.

3. Any store covered by this local union.

TEMPORARY TRANSFERS

2. THE EMPLOYER AGREES TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE IN COST OF TRANSPORTATION BY AN INVOLUNTARY TRANSFER FROM ONE STORE TO ANOTHER, WHICH TRANSFER INCREASES THEIR NORMAL COST OF TRANSPORTATION CALCULATED AT FORTY-ONE CENTS ($.41) PER MILE.

I am no stranger to working hard and I take a large amount of pride in my time spent for compensation of my services. Upon negotiations and since I do not celebrate any observed holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day nor any of the lesser holidays; I would be willing to volunteer my time during the Sunday’s PRIOR to PAID holidays, as they are normally far busier than a normal weekend.

In accordance and fairness to fellow employees pertaining to this matter (as per stated in the union handbook), Sundays are voluntary. If a person is able to afford to take Sunday off then, regardless of religion, this should be done without question and without excuses, or fear of punishment out of spite.

I am taking the proper steps to cater to implementing text from my religious doctrine to practice the “value of time”. I am gathering the essential paperwork to dub a vacant lot on my property in order to establish a recognized religious sancuary. It may thereby be recognized by government where I can practice and share my form of religion through the use of social media outlets. With actions such as these being taken into consideration, it is the duty of management to accommodate my request as per stated in the union handbook. It is also my constitutional right to have the days off I so choose to practice my religion in my place of worship, or where-so ever I choose according to the dictations stated in my religious text’s.

This is a real life occurance between myself and my employers. I am currently fighting for my time and quality of life, while at the same time sticking up for my fellow employees right to their quality of life. I will keep you updated on this matter.

The result I’ve recently received is that management may either laugh at me, or, inconvenience me during the work week by sending me to stores farthest from my home. THIS is the integrity of greedy employers taking advantage of their employees. The practice of ‘Omnism’ is the exact opposite of this sort of tyrranical behavior.

Upon negotiations and since I do not celebrate any observed holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Fourth of July or any of the lesser holidays; I would be willing to volunteer my time during these weekends as they are normally far busier than a normal weekend and I understand that my time would be more appreciated as per my fellow employees.

In accordance and fairness to fellow employees pertaining to this matter. As per stated in the union handbook Sundays are voluntary. If a person is able to afford to take Sunday off then, regardless of religion this should be done without question and without excuses, or fear of punishment out of spite. Concerning Omnism and it’s dictations, it is stated that regardless of the nature of mainstream religions, everyone is an Omnist.

I am taking the proper steps to cater to implementing text from ‘I Omnist’ to practice the “value of time”. I am gathering the essential paperwork to dub a vacant lot on my property in order to establish a legitimized ‘Omnist Diary’. It may thereby be recognized by government where I can practice and share my form of Omnism through the use of social media outlets. With actions such as these being taken into consideration, it is the duty of management to accommodate my request as per stated in the union handbook. It is also my constitutional right to have the days off I so choose to practice my religion in my place of worship, or where-so ever I choose according to the dictations stated in ‘I Omnist’.

Any unfair treatment towards me or fellow employees regarding this matter may be met with legal backlashes for discriminatory nature against religious practices. Thereby making public the deceit towards employees and tarnishing the name of the company.
